Bok Choy
Brian and Will at the Market
The cost of food is sky rocketing and worse there are almost daily warnings about food safety.
Eating seasonally and locally are my guidelines for better eating. Sol Food Farm is my partner is better eating. One of the ways I am meeting my goals of eating seasonally and locally is purchasing a farm share or CSA, community supported agriculture. I pay for the season in advance and receive a box of produce each week for five months.
It is a lot of food for one person so I have a box buddy. My box buddy was a subscriber last year and is very enthusiastic about the coming season. Althought the CSA doesn't begins until June 3, Sol Food is at the Sunday Sebastopol Farmer's Market with a variety of greens including red bok choy, baby bok choy, radishes, strawberries and a variety of salad greens. I purchased broccoli raab and a large white bok choy.
The broccoli raab was three servings so about $1.33 a serving.
